Recommended Software for Label/Logo Creation

For scan capture and image manipulation:
   *Photoshop

For optimum label composition:
   *Macromedia Freehand
   *Adobe Illustrator

Page Layout programs such as**QuarkXpress or **Pagemaker are supported, however they are not recommended for label art creation.

*
HealthspecialtyTM, recommends that label artwork be generated in such software applications as Adobe Illustrator or Macromedia Freehand. These Programs are better suited for Flexographic and Silkscreen label artwork creation and prepress production.
**Due to the nature of Flexographic electronic prepress production, HealthspecialtyTM , recommends that complex label artwork NOT be created in such page layout programs as QuarkXPress and Adobe Pagemaker. These programs are ideally suited for page layout work.

 Please Include with electronic artwork:
1. A printed directory of what is contained on the disk(s).
2. A color composite and/or separated printout of the electronic artwork.
3. Indicate on the printout the label size measurements; include corner radius,
if applicable.
4. Indicate the color break, calling out specific PMS numbers.
5. The original file of any placed images contained in the electronic art file.
6. Include the printer and screen version of each font used in the art file.
If the file was created in a vector program (ie. Illustrator or FreeHand),
